Subject

To develop the understanding of the force of Gravitation among the students.

Material Required
A rubber ball
A football
Expected Behavioral Outcomes (Learning Objectives)

Students will be able to:

  1. State the Universal Law of Gravitation.
  2. Appreciate the contribution of Issac Newton.
  3. Understand the universality of Gravitational force.

 

 

 
Assessment Strategy

Children will be asked the following questions:

  1. What would have happened if there would have been no force of gravitation?
  2. Which force is holding us to the Earth and our Moon bound to Earth?
  3. State the law of Universal law of gravitation.
Previous Knowledge Expected

Children have a general Idea about things falling on the Earth and planets revolving around the Sun. Children also know about Newton's laws of motion.

Lesson Introduction

Teacher shows a rubber ball to students and drops it from a height. Now, the teacher asks students why the ball fell on the ground and why did it not float in air.

Recapitulation

Students are given an assignment to write in 100 words, what would happen if there is no force of Gravitation.
